3/11/13 – SKI TEAM STATE RESULTS
There are 2 events – Slalom and GS-Giant Slalom. Then Overall team combined.
Overall West Linn Boys took FIRST in State with a 24 second lead.
Overall :
Trevor Maxwell took first in state combined
Dalton Tuor took second place combined
Colin Maxwell took 14th combined
Jordan Riesterer took 16th combined (move up award from 88th start)
Chris Mcnabb was an alternate for Kyle Larson (who fell in race 1) and placed 3rd as alternate!

Cheerleading Team brought home the 5th Place Trophy from the State Meet a couple of weeks ago. Congrats on your season as well!!!
 
Upcoming State Competitions:
 
Boys Basketball completed their TRL season in 2nd Place and enter the State Playoffs and are seeded 5th. The boys will be hosting their first playoff game on Tuesday, Feb. 26th. Opponent and Time TBA.
 
Girls Basketball completed their TRL season in 3rd Place and enter the State Playoffs and are seeded 12th. The girls will be hosting their first playoff game on Wednesday, Feb. 27th. Opponent and Time TBA.
 
The Dance team will be competing at the State Championships on March 13th & 14th
 
The Snowboard and Ski Teams will be competing at their State Competitions in the next couple of weeks as well
 
Good Luck to all the teams entering their Championship phases of their seasons and Congrats to those who just completed.

Congratulations to the Swimmers

2/12/13 -
Please help me congratulate our swimmers and their Coaching Staff for their fine performances this past weekend at the TRL District Swim Meet. Our girls came away with the District Championship, while the Boys fought hard for a 4th Place finish.

 
The following swimmers qualified for the State Meet that will be held this Friday and Saturday out at Mt. Hood Community College. Pre-lims are Friday night starting at 6:30 pm. and Finals will be Saturday night beginning at 5:45 pm.
 
Our girls qualified all 3 relay teams (200 Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay & 400 Free Relay)
          They are seeded #1, #4, #5 respectively in the above 3 relays
 
Our boys qualified 2 relay teams (200 Medley Relay & 200 Free Relay)
          They are seeded #14 and #16 respectively in the above 2 relays
 
Brie Balsbough, 11th, is seeded #1 in the 100 Breast and #2 in the 50 Free
Laura Laderoute, 9th, is seeded #1 in the 200 IM and #5 in the 100 Back
Curtis Klein, 12th, is seeded #2 in the 100 Back and #3 in the 200 Free
Robin Pinger, 9th, is seeded #4 in the 100 Breast and #5 in the 100 Free
Sidney Pinger, 12th, is seeded #10 in the 200 Free and #11 in the 500 Free

Good Weekend for Cheer

1/28/13 – Please also join us in congratulating the WLHS Cheerleaders. They placed 3rd at the Jesuit Crusader Challenge this past Saturday which is a really big competition and a pretty large accomplishment for a team in only their second year of competing. We were really proud of them, and they’re pretty excited :)

Congrats to Ward Lewis

1/15/13 -
A huge congratulations goes to Ward Lewis as he was again selected as the National Federation of High Schools Oregon State Coach-of-the-Year for Boys Tennis. He is now eligible for Sectional and National Level awards to be determined in the very near future.
 
Please help congratulate Ward for all of his work, time and effort in creating one of the top programs in the State of Oregon.

Spring Athletic Accomplishments

5/22/12 – Please congratulate the following for their accomplishments this spring:
 
The Boys Golf Team finished in 5th Place at the State Meet and Zach Foushee finished as runner-up individually.
     Other team members were Hayden Coppedge, Connor Jetton, Charlie Moore, and Bryant Bushnell.
 
The Girls Golf Team finished in 5th Place at the State Meet as well. Sarah Archuleta finished in 6th Place individually.
     Other team members were Kristin Elich, Kirbi Havemann, and Heidi Garber.
 
The Boys Tennis Team finished in 6th Place at the State Meet. Ian and Russell Risenhoover finished in 3rd Place
     in the Doubles Competition, while Jon Maceman and Craig Wright also helped score points at State.
 
The Girls Tennis Team finished in 5th Place at the State Meet. Emily Erbin and Macie Coronel finished in 4th Place
     in the Doubles Competition.
 
The following athletes have qualified for the State Track Meet this weekend down at the University of Oregon based on their District Track Meet results from this past week:
 
Boys — Cam Keizur in the Shot Put and Dillon George in the 1500 meters.
 
Girls — Maria Green in the High Jump (District Champ), Javelin, and 4 X 400 Meter Relay;
               Madison Leek in the 200, 400 and 4 X 400 Meter Relay;
               Bene Wilsted  in the 100, 200, & 400 Meter Wheelchair Events;
               Ellie Clow in the High Jump;
               Cara Boucher, Tatiana Cooney, Julia Boyd-Helm, Katie Moller, and Paige Leek in 4 X 400 Meter Relay
 
The Ladies Softball team will be hosting Thurston tonight at 5:00 pm. up at Rosemont Ridge in the 1st Rd. of the State
     Tourney. Come out and support the Lady Lions. Adults $6 and Students $4
 
The Lions Baseball team will be at Jesuit tonight at 5:00 pm. in the 1st Rd. of the State Tourney. Prices are the same;
     Adults $6  and Students $4
 
The Boys Lacrosse team will be playing in the 2nd Rd. of State at Sherwood on Tuesday night at 8:00 pm.
 
The Girls Lacrosse team will be playing in the State Semi-Finals at Hillsboro Stadium on Tuesday night at 8:00 pm.
 
The Boys Rugby Team will be playing for the State Title this Saturday out at Delta Park.
 
The Girls Rugby Team finished 6th in State.
 
The Equestrian Team had the following results at their State Competition this past weekend:
     Nicole Paulson placed 3rd in Showmanship, 4th in Reining, and 11th in Western Horsemanship
     Annie Sloop placed 3rd in Reining, 4th in Steer Daubing, 7th in Working Rancher
            and was also named Silver Medalist for Versatility.
     Emma Stevens placed 4th in Hunt Seat Equitation over Fences.

District Golf Results

(5/14/12)   Please congratulate the following golfers on their success in the recent district golf match. The following golfers will be attending the State Golf Competition this next Monday and Tuesday representing West Linn:

The Girls won the District Championship again.
 
     Sarah Archuleta won Low Medalist shooting the low individual score of the two day event.  Joining Sarah winning 1st Team All-League Honors was Kristin Elich as she finished in 5th place.
 
     2nd Team All-League Honors went to Kirbi Havemann and Heidi Garber.
 
The Boys team qualified again to compete at State next week with the following:
 
     Zach Foushee placed 2nd at the District Competition and was awarded 1st Team All-League Honors while Hayden Coppedge was awarded 2nd Team All-League Honors. In addition, Charlie Moore, Connor Jetton, and Bryant Bushnell will be competing at the upcoming State Competition as well.
