District Swim Meet

(2/16/10) Our swimmers had a great weekend as the Boys placed 2nd and the Girls placed 3rd at the District Swim Meet this past weekend.
 
Lindsey Gilmore qualified in the 500 Free for State.
 
Gunnar Wolfe qualified in both the 50 Free and the 100 Free for State.
Curtis Klein qualified in both the 200 Free and the 100 Back for State.

The State Meet is this Friday/Saturday out at Mt. Hood Community College. Pre-Lim’s begin at 7:00 pm. on Friday and Finals will start at 6:15 pm. on Saturday. 
 

Football Honors

(11.30.09) We had 4 seniors recognized by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame as Football Scholar/Athletes for excelling in the classroom on the football field and in as leaders in the community.

Special recognition to Michael MacClanathan and Logan Krelwitz for being selected as the Three Rivers League Football Scholar/Athletes of the year.  Both Logan and Michael will receive $1500 scholarships from the National Football Foundation and are finalist for the State Scholar/Athlete award and additional scholarships.  They will be honored at the State Scholar/Athlete banquet in December at the Janzen Beach Red Lion.   Over 1000 people will attend the banquet along with college football coaches from all over the west coast.
 
We also had a number of players make the Three Rivers League all-league team:

 Logan Krellwitz – QB – Logan was also selected as the offensive Player of the year

(11/7/09) The Dance team performed in a competition at Gladstone HS;  they took 1st in the Kick division and 2nd in the Lyrical division.  With their 1st and 2nd place wins, combined with the great scores, they have qualified to compete in the Category Championships on Dec 19th at Parkrose High School.

(11/6/09) Congratulations to Ron Chappell.  On Friday, with the win at Putnam, Ron won his 100th game as the head coach at WLHS!  He has the most wins of any coach in the history of WLHS.  Congrats Ron!

-Varsity football, with a win on Friday against Lakeridge, and if we win at Putnam, they will finish in 2nd place and will be going to the playoffs
-Both the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams win LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS and will compete at the state meet
